Cloud bills rarely grow because one large mistake slips through. They usually grow through thousands of small, invisible decisions: idle instances, oversized databases, duplicate tools, forgotten test environments, and storage that no one owns.

AI does not fail because the model is not clever enough. It often fails because the model cannot reach the systems where the work actually happens.

AI has moved from pilot projects to core operations faster than many systems were built to handle. The hard part is no longer proving that a model can summarise a document, detect a fault, or recommend an action. The hard part is making that model work inside messy, regulated, long-running organisations.

Pace Integration partnered with Lanes to deliver a cloud-native, reusable integration layer through Pace-IMS. The solution connected work management systems end to end, automated job creation and prioritisation, and enabled real-time communication between systems, engineers and customers.
